Practice for the 7th grade Jets from here on will be held at Southfield School, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5:15pm. Thursday practice will be at Messmer at 5pm.

Practice for the 7th and 8th grade Jets will be tonight at 5:00-6:30pm at Messmer Stadium. Please park behind the dumpster to allow room for Loyola and BTW fans to park. Loyola will be playing BTW tonight, if you are interested you can go to the stadium after practice and support the Loyola Flyers! Jets players are admitted free into the stadium.

Pictures will be tomorrow morning at Messmer Stadium at 10am. Please arrive 20mins early so we can line the kids up and be ready to go. Players must wear their blue jerseys and blue game pants for the team photo. They can wear the white or blue jeresey for their individual shot. If you dont have the stickers for your helmet we will have them there for you. Please be there on time and ready to go!

Practice today for the 7th & 8th grade Jet teams will be held at Loyola practice field behind Loyola High School on Jordan Street. Practice will be from 5:45-8:00. Thank you for your patience in this matter relative to the weather we have been experiencing this week.

Practice today for the 7th & 8th Grade Jets Football teams will be today from 5:45-8:00 at Messmer Stadium. Loyola High School will be playing BTW tonight at 5:30 at Messmer thus is the reason we will start practice earlier. As you enter the grounds please park past the concrete parking pad and End zone of the Practice field for TODAY ONLY. Coach Geter asks this of us for today because there will be many people at the game and he wants them to be able to park in the area closest to the Stadium. We appreciate your efforts and willingness to work with us. Practice will be in full pads as usual today. Practice tonight for the Jets 7th & 8th Grade teams will be from 6:00 - 7:30 at St John's School Gym. The address for St John's is 947 Jordan Street. Sorry for not posting in the previous practice update. Again, your son will need to bring tennis shoes to practice this evening NOT cleats since we will be practicing in a Gym. 7th and 8th grade practice will be held tonight 8/19/2008 Tuesday at the auditorium at St Johns on Jordan due to the field conditions at Messmer. Please bring tennis shoes and not cleats!

Even though we have had rain all day we will have practice tonight at 6:15 at Messmer. The only way practice will be called is if there is lightning spotted on the field, that being said she you there!!!

The game pants that you ordered from Shreveport Gymnastic are in. Please go by Shreveport Gymnastic and pick up your game pants before pictures on Saturday.

Jets Football Practice for the 7th & 8th grade will be today from 5:00 - 6:45. Coach Geter and Loyola will be finishing practice early today so that final time change and practice time is 5:00. This will give the kids that want to go to the Dance, can still go since we will be getting out early.Thank You

Practice Friday night 8/15/2008 will be at Messmer from 5:30-7:15. If your child is a student at St. Joes you are excused from practice to attend the dance that is required. If you are not a student at St. Joes you are expected to be at practice unless you notify the Coach.

I have posted the game schedule that I have as of now. There will be more games added and I will post them on the website when I am informed. The September 16, 2008 will be our travel game this year. We charter a bus and take the 7th and 8th grade players to St Freds. I will have full details when it closer to game day.

JET’S FOOTBALL TEAM PHOTOS, SATURDAY, AUG 23rd Messmer Stadium. Pictures will begin promptly at 9am. This is the schedule I have for the teams: 9:00 - 8th grade 10:00 - 7th grade 11:00 – 6th grade In order to make this run as smooth and fast as possible, parents need to have envelopes with payments ready. Parents - PLEASE write on your envelope THE GRADE TEAM of your player. Coaches- please tell your players the “action pose” they need to be in and have the boys ready and together immediately following individual and action photos to take the GROUP TEAM PHOTO. I will have envelopes at practice tonight for any parent that would like to order pictures, I will only be there from 6:15 until 6:45. I will arrange a day next week to also be a practice with envelopes if you can not make it today.

7th and 8th grade practice will begin at 6:30pm rather than 6pm at Messmer Stadium and will end at 8pm. Also if you have not been fitted for game pants you must go before Thursday morning. We had some players sign up yesterday so I am not ordering pants until Thursday morning.

The 7th and 8th grade practice will run from 6:00-8:00pm Monday through Thursday. It will be held at Messmer Stadium. If the coaches decide to practice on Friday evening we will announce that no later than Wednesday. Also if you have not been to Shreveport Gymnastic you MUST go today to get fitted for game pants.

This year the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Jets will all wear the navy blue game pants. I have ordered the sample pants and they are at Shreveport Gymnastic on Line Ave (869-1206). You MUST have your player fitted NO later than Tuesday, August 12th. Tell them that you need to be fitted for the Jets game pants and they will direct you. The pants are $18.99 plus tax (made payable to Shreveport Gymnastic). Shreveport Gymnastic will order these pants all together so they will arrive in time for pictures. Once the pants come in I will email you to let you know and you can pick them up there. If you player has not been fitted for the pants by Tuesday they will charge you extra and they might not even get the pants they need on time. This is very important!!!! Hello to all parents of our Jet Football players. This is Coach McClendon and I just wanted to remind all parents that tomorrow (Wednesday) August, 6th will be our first day practicing in Helmets. No mouth pieces are needed since there will be no contact in practice this week. So the dress attire for practice tomorrow and Thursday is Helmets, T-Shirt, Shorts & Cleats. It has been a joy to work with and coach your boys the last 2 days. I know I speak for all Jet Coaches when I say how proud of them I am. Their competitive spirit, fire, willingness to work hard and learn has been very much appreciated! Each boy that plays for us is special to me and I’m glad that he and you as parents have decided to join the Jet Football Family this season. I pray that this will be a very special season for everyone involved with Jets Football. It’s going to be a very exciting and fun filled 3 months to say the least. Thank you again for joining up with us and we look forward to seeing and getting to know you throughout the season!

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE, IT IS LOYOLA POLICY! Practice will begin at 5:30pm Monday, August 4th at Loyola School, NOT Messmer Stadium. Just a reminder that the Position Specific Clinic will start tonight at 5pm at Messmer. The cost is $30.00 made payable to Steven Geter. The clinic will run Monday through Thursday from 5:30-7:15-7:30pm. We need parents and players there tonight at 5:00pm to register your player for the four day clinic and the clinic will begin tonight at 5:30. Look forward to seeing all of you there.

The position specific clinic will start on Monday, July 28. At 5:00pm on Monday we will need the parents there to register their player. The clinic will begin at 5:30pm rather than 5:00pm and run until 7:15pm or 7:30pm instead of 7:00pm. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday the clinic will begin at 5:30-7:15 or 7:30pm. The cost is still $30.00 a player.

Next week Loyola and the Jets Coaching staff will hold a position specific clinic Monday through Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm at Messmer Stadium. The coaches will work with each individual player to determine their talent for a specific position. The cost is $30.00 per child and checks should be made payable to Steven Geter.

We are looking forward to a very exciting 2008 football season this year. Practice will begin August 4th at 5:30pm at Loyola School, NOT Messmer Stadium. Your player should come dressed in shorts and a T-shirt and should bring plenty of water. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams will all practice together this week nightly from 5:30-7:00pm. The next week the coaches for all 3 teams will designate the times and locations of their practices. If you have not turned in the physical from and paid the $300.00 registration fee this will be due when you arrive at practice. It is Loyola’s policy that ALL players must have a satisfactory physical before beginning practice. The $300.00 fee can be paid cash or check (made payable to Jets) and is due at the start of practice unless prior arrangements have been made with me.
